Carolina Wren

For a while I thought those wrens who were building a nest in my hanging plant had changed their mind and moved elsewhere - but then one day a couple of weeks ago I tried to water the plant and startled Mrs. Wren who was evidently sitting on eggs. Believe me, I was as startled as she was! Fast forward to today - I finally caught her bringing in food - so there are now nestlings to feed. She's remarkably sneaky about it, I have to say. Given the amount of traffic in and out of the door to the front porch, it's a wonder she's managing it at all - impressive.
