Who, me???

This morning I wasn't paying enough attention as I tried to slowly and quietly open the sliding door to photograph a bird in the garden... Smokey saw his chance and slipped through before I realised what was happening. He's been an indoors-only boy since early February (my choice, not his - obviously). Though he stayed close and came up to the verandah several times he wasn't going to give up his adventure till HE was ready!!! 

When we emerged from Hobbs' class (the first for this term) it was raining heavily. I knew that would work to my advantage and, sure enough, Smokey was well and truly ready to come in to get warm and dry as soon as I arrived home.

Outside, on the wires, I spied a wet wattle bird trying to shake off the rain. I've included this one as an extra. The rain is welcome for many reasons, but it couldn't have come at a better time today!
