Whiskey

Meet Whiskey, she's a Labradoodle. Yes, a cross between a Labrador and a Poodle. She has wool, not hair, she is a mad keen fisherdog, she is a mad keen swimmer, and she jumps off yachts, and climbs up the ladders. All true.Maybe also she wasn't the smartest dog in the litter, but she is adorable.

Today the kids and I and my brother-in-law took his father's yacht out for a sail on Auckland harbour. The wind was variable so we motored more than we sailed and we ended up at Rakino Island. Enroute Whiskey leapt off the boat (while sailing) but we rescued her of course ;-)

Once anchored the games began. Whiskeys "party trick" is leaping off the yacht deck (probably about 5ft off the water) into the ocean to retrieve a ball, or ring. She did this for over an hour - what a swimmer! Adam practiced his rowing, and then swam around the boat (48ft) twice - without much/any help.

On the way back we fished for Kawhai, caught one. Then Adam dropped his rod, overboard, but luckily it got caught in the dingy rope and we retrieved it. Lucky!

It was the kids first time sailing and on a yacht, they loved it. Heaps of fun and another great day!
