Underestimated

She was small and quiet and most people would have left it at that. But I prided myself on my ability to weigh people up and I could see that she was more than that. She had a strength and determination that made her more formidable than she first appeared.
After a while I realised that each of us had come to the same conclusion about her. And that each of us thought himself the only one perceptive enough to see it.
