thanks very much for all the comments yesterday. very kind indeed.

there was no celebratory glass raised as today was the pentland push: a fundraising walk in the pentlands which aims to raise funds for st columba's hospice.... and so the alarm was set for 0440 as we were meant to be at riccarton for 0600...and the celebratory tipple was put back twenty four hours...

a lovely morning for the walk as well...at least until we got to the lunch stop and i was pounced upon by a medic...."i hear you've hurt your knee" ....come into my tent and lets have a look...a few prods and muffled swearings later, hmm, not sure that you should continue on this....and i didn't...partly due to the fear that i would be deafened by the growls of idiot and told you so...in stereo
