Deadheads

I was dead-heading the heleniums this morning and gathered a few together to photograph. They're beginning to throw up new flower shoots so I'm hoping this will encourage them in that. At the same time I did the sweet peas and noticed that they're now getting mildew; it looks as if they're past their best, although they still have plenty of buds. The flowers seem to be somewhat smaller than they were, so I guess they're starting to flag. And there's some evidence of whitefly too, which no doubt isn't helping.
