United Nations

I bought this poster in Geneva when I visited the United Nations building. I liked it for two reasons.

Firstly, my grandad was a big supporter of peace and favoured the image of the dove. In his later years he wore a wooden dove pendant - it always stayed in my mind clearly as I grew up. Therefore when he died I asked for it and have worn it everyday ever since.

The second reason is because of my Great Uncle Nigel. He gave me my first car as it happened to coincide with when he stopped driving. I was extremely grateful. The car was blue but Nigel assured me he chose it beacuse it was 'UN Blue'! Therefore anytime I see anything in 'UN Blue' I can't help but smile.

I felt whilst not my best picture this was fitting for today as unfortunately my Great Uncle Nigel passed away today. He lived a fantastic life to the grand old age of 96. I actually blipped him in his usual sparkling form in May this year:
