English Oak.

This is a very large tree growing nearby and was once one of a pair. Without the leaves you can see the framework of the tree which I think is stunning. Only the rotted out stump is left of the other one now.

The tree has a 'protected' sign on it which means people cant just chop it down at a whim. See sign in extra.

For the first or last letter of August, I am choosing t.  T for tree.
