Starting out in life.....

........can be an uphill struggle.
This cute little duckling is one of eight I came across in a small pond just up the road from where I live - see my extra photo for Mum and the rest of the babies. My concern is that there was a grey heron just a few yards away. I will go back tomorrow to check on them.
