Spoonie
Well a lone roseate spoonbill showed up at the salt marsh this morning staying only briefly.
It was feeding on small fish and tiny glass shrimp.
Always a thrill to see these big pink birds with their spatula shaped bill working their way through and around the oyster beds.
I heard later that there was another one over on the beach side but it was a pale barely pink juvenile as opposed to this fairly mature adult that already has his crimson 'wing drips'.
Also glad this guy showed up on a Wed so he could go into the Wild Wed group hosted by Cailleach
