Hopetoun House

A lunch venue with a difference:-)  It was off to Queensferry, near Edinburgh to have lunch at The Stables Restaurant at Hopetoun House.  Dry but increasingly cloudy weather for the journey there, but rain all the way home again!

A most enjoyable lunch in the converted stables (see Extras), in spite of an initial confusion over the orders.  This was more than made up for when we were given our starters as complimentary because of the delay:-)  Excellent management skills!

Driving back through Queensferry, I spotted a large passenger ship just under the three bridges (see Extras) and think this is the Caribbean Princess, the recent star of "When the Boat Comes In" about the huge cruise ships in Orkney.  Shame they didn't get better weather to view the bridges.
