The sound of Autumn
silence...darkness..
an awareness of light....
Blackbirds singing form the garden wall....and then....clean golden sunlight streaming through the tiny crack in the curtains.
A stifled yawn and a cool arm outside the covers, a little reluctance to leap out of bed and it must mean that it is Autumn!
We got up at a leisurely pace and had breakfast. The sun was bright but with little warmth so early. Mooching around until our dear friend came over and then into town we went for lunch....more mooching and a coffee. The crowds had coats and hats on but by the time we had finished lunch the sun had done its job and we had a last feel of summer.
The day passed by in a wiz and the night rushed in impatient for its turn, the wind getting eager for the clouds to invade the sky. Rustling leaves, birds singing, wind gusting and the sound of windows being shut up tight brings the sound of Autumn into the house.
Bad weather is forecast for tomorrow so it is off to the gym for me, I wasn't going to waste a lovely day like today with being in a sweaty little box!
Lets see what happens....
