Anniversary Day

60 Years ago today was my parents wedding day. The wedding took place at 11am in High Street Methodist Church, Maidenhead. My Mum recalled that no caterers were employed to keep costs down, so family members contributed food for the reception in the church hall. Even my Dad was up at 6am to wash the lettuces! By mid to late afternoon they were on a train heading for Ilfracombe for their honeymoon.

Today's blip is a picture of a photo on the mantle piece in our bedroom, which is of Mum and Dad on their Ruby Wedding Anniversary celebrations, 20 years ago. Sadly my Dad died a couple of years after this, but Mum said she is not sad today, but thankful that she met Dad all those years ago.
