But, then again . . . . .

Dead Rose.

Back in late July, our neighbour gave us a lovely bunch of flowers in payment for putting her bins out while she was away on a family holiday. Since then, I have been carefully nurturing them, a procedure that involved shouing at Herself on each occasion that she felt the urge to put them in the bin. This specimen is the sole survivor; roses are good at growing old disgracefully, but then, it is my opinion as a bee keeper that it is the only thing that hybrid T roses are good at. The have been selectively bred so intensively that they produce neither pollen nor nectar and, in most cases, no scent; and, speaking personally, I find little about their shape and form to appreciate. Perhaps I’m just a wee bit prejudiced.

Thanks to BikerBear who seems to have been running the FlowerFriday challenge since time immoral.
