Ipswich

St. Mary at the Elms. One of the two main churches in Ipswich.

A badminton tournament with Mr H took me to Ipswich all day today, whilst Mrs W. recovers from tonsillitis. H had a good tournament, lots of fun and I went walkabout.

A nice town, compact, busy. A market in the centre, a dock full of pleasure yachts but also a couple of interesting seagoing barges.

The best coffee I have ever had served in the town hall, a outfit trading under the name "Snobby Coffee" . Don't miss it if you are in Ipswich.

This is the church of St Mary within the Elms. I think it was founded in the 14C and largely rebuilt in the 19thC. All the elm trees have gone and it is surrounded by busy roads and modern office blocks, so difficult to get a decent view. So I poked my camera through the railings and got this.

There wasn't much in the sky and my interest was mostly in the form and texture. There were some pretty roses outside. So mono it is with a bit of colour pop.
