Hedgehog

This little chap has been rehabilitated at my friend's veterinarypractice and is now well enough, and big enough, to be released back into the wild. He is being acclimatised in a hutch with a run for a few days first.

Juvenile hedgehogs need to be more than 450g in weight - but preferably 600g if they are to hibernate successfully and wake up in good condition.

You can learn more here on what to do if you find a young hedgehog

Lets hope this one makes it through the winter.

Hedgehogs are very cute, but they do smell awful and invariably home lice and fleas!!
