Where do you take visitors
Crystal Cove State Park
this piece of land on PCH 1 was saved by the grand-daughter (now in her eighties) of the biggest developer and land-owner in our area. She wanted to preserve it as it was when she was a child roaming around the beach.
Instead of big fancy hotels we have a State Park for everyone, who is willing to pay the $15 parking fee. You can also buy a pass for the year. And now they added a fee for $5 for one hour, for those who don't want to stay
the whole day, maybe they just want to take a photo etc. This area is the birthing place of the dolphins. It has natural beauty and wonderful sunsets.
I would like to add that the area on the bluffs where cultivated by Japanese farmers who planted celery here, before city folks from Los Angeles drove to the area with their cars about 90 years ago, then they came and built vacation shacks on the beach and formed a little community on leased land called Crystal Cove. The rest is history.
