Northwich Victoria 2 1874 Northwich 2 - FA Cup

With Chester's game at Solihull called off I went to watch the grudge FA Cup match between Northwich Victoria and 1874 Northwich which proved to be a really exciting game.

1874 Northwich were formed in 2012 by former Northwich Victoria supporters who were disillusioned by the way that the  club had been run for the previous 10 years. They had a point because the owner at that time is now serving 6 years in jail following a drug conviction.

Victoria have continued to limp on and ironically have just become a supporter run team themselves. They both play at the same level. Neither team actually plays in Northwich with 1874 ground sharing in Winsford and Victoria playing in Barnton where this game was played. 

1874 took the lead with a penalty after four minutes but had a player sent off just before half time. However they extended their lead early in the second half but began to tire and Vics scored two late goals to take the match to a replay.
