Amazing

There have been a good few Tui shots from the Kiwi blippers of late and we have a pair feeding in our garden every day at the moment, so I was inspired to get the shot. . But because these two are not used to human activity, unlike your average urban tui, I haven't been able to get within a country mile of them. And as you do when approaching a subject with the potential to disappear at any moment , I took the safety shot. That's the moment when you have the first chance of getting ANY shot of the subject. Heavy shade, contrasty distracting background, ISO through the roof, I knew there was no chance of getting anything decent. Then he disappeared. The quality of the result is very much owing to the capability of the machinery and lightroom to extract the detail. As far as I'm concerned , amazing.
