All aboard the Bernina Express .....
..... and down came the rains, the thunder rolled and the lightning flashed .... visibility pretty poor but we got a sense of the spectacular scenery.
The photo shows the rear of the very long train negotiating the Brusio circular viaduct, a 360 degree curve which allows the railway to change height in a very short space.
The journey concluded in Tirano which is a footfall over the Italian border. Time for a pizza and by this time the sun was trying to shine. A brief wander round the town then it was back to the train. Lashing rain on the homeward journey.
The extra photo is one of the glaciers but the speed of the train and the weather were not on my side.
