Too Early Pears!

It's been a day of washing and putting away and processing 1600 photos for me whilst Tony has been attempting to bring some order to the allotment, which will take more than a few hours!  He did bring down a trug full of potatoes, onions and some carrots.  Whilst we were away, Jen and Pete did an excellent job of picking fruits.  They also reported that the pear tree had broken off.  Tony investigated today and found that it had snapped off at the point where it had been grafted on to the rootstock.  Sadly this means that the fruit had not reached maturity.  Jen and Pete picked the ones in my blip and we are going to see if they will ripen......

We Skyped Becks and Rob in Boston which was good to catch up, especially since Becky recently started a new job at Harvard.  I also had a catch up phone call with Jenny.  We have enjoyed a chicken roast dinner with yorkshire puddings and the veg from the allotment - the first in several weeks due to Tony being away and the oven being out of action!
