The Italian Chapel
A beautifully sunny and warm day today. We went to the nearby cafe for breakfast and then wandered down to the harbour and had a look at a huge sailing boat which had been in The Onedin Line. It was like a pirate ship.
After lunch at the Real Food Cafe in Kirkwall, we cycled to the Italian Chapel over the Churchill Barriers, which was even more impressive than I had imagined. The ingenuity of these POWs was incredible. Cycled home and had fish and chips for tea.
Semi-Q and I went out for a walk later back to the harbour to find that the sailing ship is open to the public tomorrow afternoon - we may need to return!
