Plumes or fronds?

I bought this pampas grass about 5 years ago from a car boot sale. Id wanted one for years but they had been out of my price range until I found this one, £1.50, half dead & pot bound so I took a chance on it.
Now,its the biggest thing in my garden, nicknamed 'The Triffid' as it takes over if not kept in check.
Last year I chopped it right back & this year its produced more plumes/fronds than ever, 15 on the way so far!
As for the title, well I call them plumes & my Mum calls them fronds, I like both to be honest :D
