The hubster is on holidays as of Friday for one week.  We had plans in place but sadly due to the wildfires had to cancel them and make new ones.  So this morning we hiked a trail around a lake that I'd been wanting to hike for some time now.  It was hot, but thankfully a lot of the trail was in the shade.  At the halfway point, we ate our picnic lunch and then continued on.  It took us about 3 1/2 hours to complete the hike.  We arrived at our car dusty and a tad sore but so glad we were able to do this today!  

Tomorrow we're getting ready and packing up to head out early Tuesday morning to catch a ferry and meet up with our son and his family on one of the islands off the coast.  We'll be spending 4 glorious days by the ocean!
