Palaces in Brussels
A new day for roaming thro' Brussels and we started with a visit to the Palais de Justice where my friend was overwhelmed by the statues of Demothenes and Lykourgos at the stairs feet.
After enjoying the panorama over the city of Brussels from close to that gigantic Palace of Justice we went on to the King's Palace, what he knew from the tele and wanted to see in reality. To our surprise the palace was open to the public for a free (!) visit. I suppose the king and his family are on holidays elsewhere and have the door opened to the public for free, as it's from their tax money that they can live in the palace and they allow them in to see where they live.
Salons decorated with lots of gold paint and spacious enough to walz thro' for miles and miles. Such a splendid idea to let the citizens in from Belgium and abroad, my friend was impressed again :)
