Feeling Waspish

Fun and enjoyment come in different disguises to people, and so to do some research on the subject, we hot footed it to Arthur's Seat this morning to watch the runners having their version of fun in the 10K Roadblock Run, which I advertised on my blog yesterday.

And with the sun shining and warm temperatures, it did look as though they might be having fun as they toiled up the road from Holyrood encountering various obstacles such as jumping over posts, negotiating a maze of tape, trying to avoid being battered by huge rubber bolsters and climbing into a huge removal van, dodging all the packaging inside and exiting to climb up the concrete terracing of the parliament grounds, and do it again.

There was less fun and no running as they climbed the near vertical radical road on the side of the hill. Where they went after that we didn't wait to find out as a scone and cup of tea was earmarked for us at the Palace.

As we sat in the sun, I remarked that we had been in Budapest at this time last year, and it wasn't too hard to imagine we were back there again, so surrounded by foreign tongues were we.

We then had our own version of fun as we trudged home up the hill of the Royal Mile, all the while negotiating wayward tourists.
