Planten und Blomen

Means 'plants and flowers' in Northern German dialect. It is a very old botanical garden, with gorgeous flowers and during the summer weekends 'waterfireworks' in one of the ponds. Impressive and very pleasant to be there on a warm summer day. The area is called Dammtor, which means that there was a dam in medieval times here with a gate . Now it is a very busy area at the edge of Hamburgs oldest CBD and the picture of the street in the collage is showing many restaurants with outdoor seating , where every seat is occupied at lunchtime.
A day of getting ready for my flight back to the US and enjoying my sweet little granddaughter one last time.
