For The Child - Flor Kent
I have blipped this statue which stands on a platform at the train station before, 3 years ago, when we were last in Prague, but I find it so powerful that I have to do it again.
The inscription reads ' in deep gratitude to Sir Nicholas Winton and all the compassionate rescuers who saved 669 children from the horrors of world war 2 on 8 transports to Britain in 1939 and in memory of the 15,131 Czechoslovak children who lost their lives in concentration camps.'
If I could add extras of the original art nouveau station ( wonderful and quite hidden) and the hundreds of other things I took snaps of I would but I chose this again.
