Some days......

.......are better than others.
Sadly,yesterday was not one of them !
Lewis, Sydneys long time ,much loved ,companion  had to leave us :-(
Though he looks quite regal and composed in my photo ;in reality he was in much pain (though typical of him he remained stoical and dignified)
So that hugely difficult decision had to be taken and we took him to the vet and sat with him as she gave him the calm and decent passing that he deserved
On my trips to Seattle he has been the most enjoyable companion on my walks up forest trails ; despite being thirteen years old managing four or five miles as recently as January this year.
But this trip he has struggled with even a "walk" :-(
He was the most agreeable,uncomplaining happy dog ever.....and I loved him dearly
As did everyone who met him ...........the gardening guy just managed to maintain his macho demeanour ;but we knew a tear was desperate to escape his eye :-)
The inlet is full of amazing creatures today........otters, heron, bald eagles ,racoons....... but there is only one that I wish to share with you!

Spare a minute to salute him and say " Hi  Lewis "  :-)
