Diary of an Edinburgher

Groupies!

JR went to the gym while Archie and I sat outside in the sun. Today promised to be full of sunshine for a nice change.

After Archie had a run on the Links, we left him and set off for George Square, where we were to attend a show - another bunch of Kiwis, this time singing ones - The Modern Maori Quartet. They were fab, and we got quite 'homesick' when they started with well known Maori songs, before moving on to more 'standards' (we would have loved the whole show to have been Maori songs). They were charming, funny, with excellent harmonies and guitar playing. In fact, so taken were we that we went and spoke to them afterwards. One of the chaps had attended an intermediate school that I used to teach at. The stage lighting was terrible, and cast a purple hue over their heads, so I had to fiddle with it and make it a small photo, as the quality is terrible.

George Square was looking great. The food stalls all looked and smelled delicious, so we popped there after the show and had a most delicious Pad Thai. There was so much we brought half of it home to finish in the back garden in the sun. Archie loved playing with the take away box and having a good lick.

All in all a very good day. I can't actually remember the last time we were groupies...
