Pond Maintenance

That figure looking drenched, crouching by the pond? That's Harry, who comes once a month from March to November to look after the pond for us. Neither Len nor I have marvellous balance and it's worth the extra to get Harry to change the water for us and to look after the plants.

When he arrived, he was wearing his waterproof coat but just his Rohan trousers. It didn't take him long to say I'd made a sensible suggestion to change into his waterproof salopettes (if that's what you call them) and wellies.

He remained cheerful. He said his coat would keep him warm and dry and he expected to wear waterproofs and wellies for the rest of the day.

Did it rain! I walked Basil to coffee morning and even wore my Drizabone coat. Felt invincible against the weather in that.
