Before the Rain Came

Taken on the morning dog walk, under cloudy skies.

Before a visit to Sports Direct (son's clothes not mine) necessitated chocolate and an extended lie down.

In other exciting news...

I spent yesterday afternoon and evening with 'comedy thumb throb.'

The current Mrs Mart ordered a brick work thingy.

So armed with a YouTube video, bucket, trowel and a bucket I proceeded to pummel my thumb in to submission. Mr YouTube Expert harked on about straight lines, spirit levels, plumbs, 90 degrees and other technical stuff I did not really understand.

I did understand that you have to overlap the bricks in what he called a Flemish Bond. However, with my assortment of recycled, mortar encrusted bricks, half bricks, 3/4 bricks and rubble, I went for a more Tetris influenced bond. I have named it the 'Rustic, Bodge Bond.'
