a great walk up and round the dam, coming back through the Mica mines. Unexpectedly, the sun shone the whole time and Scotch Argus and Dark Green Fritillaries were much in evidence.
It's been a while since I visited the Mica mines, an important and secret location during the second world war when the mines were reopened. They were not on any maps and local people had to advise the military. The extra is one of the spoil heaps. I end up with pocketsful each time I go!
