Flowers yesterday, Veg today Produce blipping
These are the first tomatoes of the year. I could not work out how to display them so tried the Vegetable Tower. This way the hole in the bottom one can not be seen. Something has enjoyed the fresh tomato taste before us; not sure what or whether it is still inside.
In addition to these three ripe toms I found blight in the polly tunnel. Its my own fault as I have not cut out many side shoots or reduced the leaves to help ventalation. Cut out a bucket full of affected leaves and sprayed the rest with a bicarb and cooking oil mixture. I am not very hopeful of saving the plants as I am away for a few days, plenty of time for the blight to spread and take over. I will give it another dowsing in bicarb tomorrow ( a bit soon but I will be loosing the plants either way). The ones outside and those in the new greenhouse are not showing any symptoms as yet so fingers crossed
