Crossing The Ford

TT got up early and went for a  run. He didn’t get very far, and had to hobble home with a painful calf, just as we were all sitting down to a big breakfast.  Tradition dictates that L cooks us all eggs and tattie scones.  He even branched out into pancakes for BB this year.  We had a quiet morning pottering around.  BB and I went for a  wee walk to the beach and the stepping stones, and BB and TT helped R with her holiday jigsaw of Arran.  Late morning we headed to Lochranza again.  We stopped for sandwiches at the wonderful sandwich station.  It was really breezy and not very warm in Lochranza so we retreated to the car for our picnic. TT and I really enjoyed our sandwiches, but BB was underwhelmed with his.  We did witness the re-opening of the Lochranza public toilets while we lunched!  They had been closed by the Council, but have now been re-opened by the local community.

We carried on round the island so we could have a walk to Loch Iorsa.  It’s an easy walk up to the loch, but the first part of the walk was incredibly muddy.  Luckily we had our boots on today.  It was quite overcast, but we were out of the breeze, so it wasn’t cold.  It was a lovely walk, and we only met a couple of people.  The highlights for BB were paddling through the two fords.  One has a bridge which he could have used, but he preferred to get his feet wet.  He confirmed that the water was very cold.

TT had volunteered to cook tea for everyone, so we returned home via the supermarket.  With L’s assistance he cooked up a selection of delicious curries which went down a treat.

Here is BB crossing one of the fords, and doing a little dance in the middle!.
