Yorkshire Moorland Heather
We just had to go to the local Moor again for our morning walk to enjoy the fabulous heather which is getting better all the time at the moment.
Going over to Ilkley yesterday the heather was looking glorious on Ilkley Moor but this is on our doorstep, within walking distance of our village, wonderful to be able to so easily enjoy this true glory of late summer.
The stone flagged path you can see shows signs of the ruts left by the trucks that were pulled over them many years ago from the stone quarries, the remains of which can still be seen dotted around. On it today is Buster ahead of me and three of the 6 ladies who walked today. Beyond, the village in the distance is Wilsden, home of Wilsden Walker and Buster.
Perfect for Flower Friday I think. Have a good weekend everyone.
