PYO@50

I played in Perth Youth Orchestra during my last three years at school. This year they are celebrating their 50th Anniversary and a number of events have taken place throughout the year to mark the occasion. Today was a concert involving past players and it was lovely to be invited back to play under the baton of Mr Young again. We didn't sound bad considering we'd only met for the first rehearsal last night! A lot of the pieces I'd played before so it was fun thinking back to what stage I was at last time I'd played it.

The concert was followed by a reception, dinner and a ceilidh. I've never been to a function like this in the concert hall and I had a great night catching up with some fellow music geeks (what we called ourselves at school) and teachers who had also come back for the celebrations.
