Big Log

This cypress log is part of the landscape and exhibits at Brookgreen Gardens (http://www.brookgreen.org/)  The log was said to be 500 years old when cut in the 18th or 19th century, making it perhaps 700 years old today.  It weighs 6 tons or over 12,000 pounds.  The website is a way to look briefly at Brookgreen Gardens where I spent some time today.  It is one of my favorite places to go among all the places I've been.  If you view the log in large, you get a better idea of how massive it is.
