pumpkin colours

A friend was telling me the other day about a magazine cover she saw while waiting in the grocery store line-up which featured a pink pumpkin. Pink! Apparently you can paint your pumpkin pink for Hallowe'en. OK, sure, I guess... but why would you want to? Not that there's anything wrong with pink, every colour has its own beauty -- except maybe puce or beige (shudder) -- but to my mind pink is totally wrong for the season. Orange, on the other hand, is a gloriously warm and perfectly autumnal colour. Let's celebrate orange!
