Orkney Farmland

Many visitors to Orkney are surprised at the good quality of the farmland.  This is mainly because of the dour struggle through Caithness.  Folk are also surprised at the amount of kye and the high standards of husbandry.

CMC and myself went for a walk from our doorstep today and around the parish.  We met Kathleen Miller who was taking ‘Flow’ a walk; sadly Scapa has died.

I have been ‘requested’ to go and lift some tatties.    CMC is going to make an onion quiche.

It is a lovely afternoon, the meadow pipits are fairly flitting aboot.  I think I may have a beer.
