Knott End
Today we had to go up to Thornton, near Blackpool, to take my aunt home from my mum's. Afterwards we went for lunch and drove to Knott End for no other reason than it looked an interesting place for a blip. It turned out to be a very nice location and there was the added bonus of seeing the Red Arrows flying over Blackpool in the distance.
I like this blip because of the man looking at a statue which celebrates the artist LS Lowry's links with the village. Lowry often visited Knott End in the 1940s and 1950s and the matchstick man and dog are inspired by his painting "The Jetty at Knott End, near Fleetwood." The sculpture was erected in 2015.
