Book signing

A busy morning then off to the Book Festival to support our friends Iain and Anne Fraser. I've known Anne for more years than it would be gentlemanly to mention: our parents knew each other well and we grew up meeting often at events.

With Iain 2 years ago they decided that Edinburgh merited a watercolour sketchbook of buildings, parks and sights. The product has just gone on sale and after an hour's presentation there was a signing.

We all then gathered for food and refreshment and - for Edinburgh in August - had a lovely day where we could sit outside.

We eventually had to bid them farewell to get back home and ready (after cutting the grass and sorting out the greenhouse) to go to part 2 of the Divide.

The first half was more humorous as the storyline developed - and the final half ramped up the drama and the emotion.

Overall, that final part made the event worthwhile though I did find the pace very slow (albeit it had its effect, a bit like Ravel's Bolero). And while you thought you knew where the plot was going there were twists and tensions. So overall, while I will not quickly repeat the 6 hours experience I did enjoy it. The staging and the acting were superb.
