Conquering Ben Nevis.

So, I've lived in FW my whole life, and never climbed Ben Nevis. Due to the (oddly) nice weather, I decided today was the day.

So C and I set off at 8am, and it was so misty to start off with that you couldn't even see the Ben!

First thing I noticed, there were a lot more people than I expected! It was literally busier than FW High Street! There were all sorts, from 5 years olds with their parents, to old couples! I even saw one woman carrying her chihuahua (who had apparently given up around the halfway mark!)Everyone was so friendly and encouraging though.

Second thing, it was a lot longer and harder than I expected! By the time I had got to the halfway loch I felt like I had climbed a mountain! Amazing views and the sunshine helped us get to the top though, where there was plenty of snow, but even better views!

This is us at the top, looking over the north face! It was quite convienient that there was a wee mound of rocks for me to prop my camera on so I could use the self timer to take this picture!

So now I can say for one day, I was one of the highest people in Britain. All in all, an amazing day!
