Day 227/17. Titanic memorial in Southampton.

On 15th April 1912 the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and sank with the loss of over 1500 lives.
An early morning trip into Southampton saw me with a few minutes so I set off to capture the memorial as today's image.
I've never fully understood why this was not placed closer to the sea shoreline. It is on the north side of the city centre, well inland.
