A visit to the rubbish tip...

When you make a trip to the rubbish tip to dump some garden waste you do not expect to be regaled with a wonderful display of wild flowers. For some years East Lothian Council have been planting patches of wild flowers in amenity areas like Seafield Pond and at road islands. I have featured them in a number of previous blips. This year, however, the yield has been pretty poor so I was simply amazed to see this marvellous array of poppies on a patch of land leading to the rubbish tip.
