St Mary's Loch
Bit cold in the van last night but still a good night sleep. Headed over to St Mary’s Loch for a walk around it. Raining all morning but it manage to clear up before we started and turned into a nice day. Longer walk today at 9.5 miles but at least it was flat. Stopped at the northern end of the loch for lunch and to take a picture. The return journey took us to St Mary’s Kirkyard where William Wallace was said to be proclaimed the Guardian of Scotland. The church is now gone and the grave stones are falling over. One of the tombs is missing its side and being used by the sheep as a shelter. Not sure if these are now zombie sheep as a result so we didn’t hang around to find out. Had coffee and cake at the small café at the end of the walk before J went for a swim with Kilda. Stopped off in Selkirk to get supplies for a BBQ for dinner. Bed early.
