Warrender Swim Centre

One of the things I really like about the location of our flat in Edinburgh is that the Warrender Swim Centre is just a few hundred yards away. I can leave the flat, jog up the road and be in the baths in 5 minutes. Built in 1888 as a private baths for a local water polo club . It hosted the international match Wales v Scotland in 1900. In 1919 it passed to Edinburgh Council and became open to the public. In 2005 it was renovated but the Victorian individual cubicle changing rooms round the edge were retained, the roof is a glass masterpiece and there are civilised steps into the pool at each corner. Its a shame I cannot take photos in there. This plaque in the entrance hall commemorates the history.
