Krapp's Last Tape
Well, we are just back from Edinburgh Festival and the train was standing room only.
We saw Barry McGovern in Samuel Beckett’s iconic one-man play dealing with memory and age.
Now this has had rave reviews for McGovern’s superb acting in the starring role
But it was slow. The first ten minutes were taken up with him eating two bananas. In silence. And the play lasts less than an hour.
The sheer number of elderly men in the audience suggested this play resonated with them.
I like Beckett but this is not one of his plays that I would rush to see again in a hurry.
