Background Reading

You may have noticed I love books - of any kind. Except kindle "books", that is.

You may also have noticed I occasionally love flowers. One of my favourite photographers is Imogen Cunningham. She of the same f64 group as one or two famous others.

I picked up her book of portraiture in Barters in Alnwick, Northumberland last year. Brilliant. She also published "Flora". Interestingly, she was much taken with Magnolia grandiflora.

I have a birthday voucher to spend and was pondering buying some of her flower work. Then I got interested in Karl Bloβfeld [extra], or Charles Jones, or Bob Mapplethorpe, or Ernst Haekel, or...

But then I found this amazing book in the store that has them all - plus much much more by way of plant art - aside from photography. Pretty much decision made. Until tomorrow...
