Strawberries and cream

Spent the whole day surveying bog and woodland for Aspens. A very successful day. However, have gone for this fungus shot because it is so rare. It is a toothed fungus, rare in itself. Also known as bleeding tooth fungus, but I prefer the title name. The 'blood droplets' are anticoagulant although how people found that out I am at a loss to explain.
No sign of the rare invertebrates, the purpose of our survey . Next time!
